Bard Early College New Orleans (BECNO), a partnership between Bard College and the Louisiana Department of Education, invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in Philosophy for this Spring semester which starts in Jan 2026. This position is for an in‑person, 3‑credit course taught only for one semester. Candidates must be available for Faculty and Staff Orientation on Jan 2. Candidates who will have a Master’s or Ph.D. at the time of employment, or who are ABD, with high school and/or college teaching experience are preferred. We are looking for candidates with familiarity using participatory pedagogy, a focus on interdisciplinary connections in their curricular design, and a demonstrated commitment to promoting diverse working and learning environments. We are seeking educators with a commitment to social justice, who are passionate about their fields of study, and interested in working to advance equity through rigorous curricula made accessible to students with varied academic preparation. The Philosophy class will meet three times a week, with some flexibility on the class times. The Spring semester begins Jan 2 and runs through May 10.
