The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting with patient care activities within an assigned clinical unit. The Nursing Assistant functions within his/her scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse to assist in providing care and implementing delegated activities of the nursing plan. S/he demonstrates an understanding of basic nursing skills and skills unique to the assigned clinical unit(s).
