Overview Join to apply for the Emerging Store Manager role at Walgreens . Responds to store operations and leadership needs to support front-end and pharmacy operations, with responsibilities in supervision, merchandising, asset protection, and profitability. Responsibilities Customer Experience: Engage customers and patients, greet them, offer assistance with products and services, resolve complaints promptly, model customer service best practices, coach teammates, and monitor customer service metrics. Operations: Supervise store operations and team members, assign daily activities, manage shifts, approve time records, schedule conflicts, and ensure coverage; collaborate with external partners for community outreach; leverage data to make fact-based decisions; oversee cash handling and bookkeeping; supervise front-end and pharmacy inventory, perform resets and price changes, analyze inventory trends, and train staff on SOPs; ensure store cleanliness, safety, and maintenance; ensure staff are proficient with computer and technology systems; uphold security practices; comply with policies and laws (including alcohol, tobacco, pharmacy products, and food); complete special assignments as directed. Full Store Operation & Business Performance: Independently analyze financial and performance data, create action plans to meet business deliverables, use KPI dashboards to drive improvements, and identify sales opportunities in collaboration with the Store Manager; support Pharmacy during busy periods as needed. People & Performance Management: Lead, train, mentor, coach, and develop team members; manage performance, conduct discipline when needed, and support succession planning; ensure compliant recruitment, retention, and diverse talent pipelines; establish accountability through clear expectations and performance management. Training & Personal Development: Complete Store Manager learning and development programs and required trainings; maintain an Individual Development Plan; obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy technician license as required by state. Communications: Maintain open communication with team through one-on-one and group discussions; assist in planning and communicating company/store strategy. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, or Walgreens Community Internship, or High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience (no direct reports required). Demonstrated leadership, professional ethics, self-motivation, strong communication, and business acumen. Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials within 12 weeks of start date for ESM role (if placed on or after June 1, 2021). Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work flexible schedule, including extended days, evenings, and weekends. Willingness to relocate if promoted to Store Manager; ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring Area. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree; internal candidates: management experience across front-end and pharmacy; external candidates: business majors with prior retail or food industry experience.
