Job Description

Who We Are

States Made is a full-service merchandise partner for nonprofits, political campaigns and socially conscious businesses. We believe in the power of a well-designed t-shirt to raise vital funds and increase awareness of important issues. We create legitimate e-commerce businesses for each of our partners, using best practices for merchandising, marketing, UX and design.

All of the goods we create are USA-made and union printed, so we’re creating good jobs and ethical merch. Our clients are movement-creators, activists and game-changing progressive politicians. We're scaling and adding more in the run up to the 2020 elections. You can check out some of our clients here!

Who We’re Seeking

We are looking for a Graphic Designer with killer creative instincts. You will get to flex your skills designing a wide variety of merchandise, marketing materials, social assets. You will get to see your art and vision come to life on a regular basis. We’re a small team, so you will have a vital hand in our growth during a critical juncture.

Your Role

  • Designing or illustrating original art for our clients' merchandise-- this could include designing for high-profile political figures with the ability to spread your creations far and wide

  • Prepping designs and graphics for our printers or manufacturers

  • Creating graphics for each of our clients' Ecommerce stores

  • Capturing and creating content for our clients' social and email channels

Our Ideal Candidate

  • A degree in Graphic Design or related major

  • 2-3 years working in design

  • Clear understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and general design

  • Finger on the pulse of current trends in digital design, fashion, and retail communities

  • A self-starter – you don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do. You are constantly looking for inspiration and bringing new creative ideas to the table

  • You aren’t afraid of a little ambiguity and you thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • A great communicator and are able to explain your vision to non-designers

  • Expert level Illustrator and Photoshop skills

  • Experience designing for apparel or other products – you have a working understanding of screen printing

  • Passionate about progressive causes and social good. You’re well acquainted with the #Resistance and have probably made a very witty poster for a march in the last two years

  • A strong desire for the world to be a better designed place

This is a part-time/freelance position. We’re looking for someone who can dedicate 10-15 hours a week during fairly regular time slots. Remote work is okay!

To Apply:

Send your resume, portfolio and a little bit about yourself and why you’d be a fit for this role to jobs@states-made.com
