This is a hybrid role with in-office requirement so selected hire will reside in the DC/MD/VA area.


Responsibilities

  • The Investigative Analyst shall support the Internal Affairs Subdivision by managing investigative data, conducting analytical reviews, and assisting with case intake, tracking, and trend reporting functions in support of federal investigators. Work under this task includes, but is not limited to:
  • Overseeing and managing the intake module of the agency-approved case management systems, ensuring complete and timely intake of misconduct and harassment allegations into the investigative system of record.
  • Perform validation technician duties by reviewing and verifying data entered in the case management system to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper classification in accordance with internal protocols.
  • Generate investigative case reports, dashboards, and trend analyses using data captured in case management system or related databases to support threat detection, behavioral pattern recognition, and internal resource planning.
  • Conduct complex queries and data analysis to synthesize indicators of employee misconduct, suspicious activity, and other reportable activities that may warrant further inquiry by Internal Affairs personnel.
  • Support the development of statistical reports and summary outputs used to inform senior leadership on investigative caseloads, case types, resolution rates, and historical trends.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, to include referrals, notifications, validation checklists and internal templates.
  • Assist with quality control reviews of data and documentation uploaded into the system, flagging inconsistencies for government personnel as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to Internal Affairs personnel. 


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting administrative investigations, analysis, compliance, or internal affairs functions.
  • Demonstrated experience using SharePoint-based case management systems.
  • Proficiency in data validation, records management, and investigative analysis within secure or law enforcement environments.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools such as but not limited to, Excel or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with investigative databases such as, but not limited to LexisNexis, CLEAR, and NCIC.
  • Understanding of case lifecycle processes, intake procedures, and misconduct reporting protocols within a federal or law enforcement context.
  • Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a high-security environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to support briefing materials, system documentation, and data reporting.
