Job Summary

As a Marine Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on marine vessels. Your expertise in marine electrical systems, navigation equipment, and communication systems will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our maritime assets.

Major Duties Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, and repair marine electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, navigation equipment, communication systems, and control panels.
  • Perform electrical maintenance tasks, such as testing circuits, diagnosing faults, and replacing faulty components to ensure reliable operation.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to identify appropriate procedures for installation and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with other marine professionals, including engineers, technicians, and shipfitters, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the vessels infrastructure.

Essential Skills Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program for marine electrical work is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Marine Electrician, with a strong track record in marine electrical system installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Expertise in reading, interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams and technical manuals related to marine systems.
  • Knowledge of marine electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Safety Environmental Factors:

All employees are expected to adhere to the companys safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
