The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Recovery unit provides specialized patient care following various surgical procedures within a busy operating room setting. This PRN role includes variable shifts with evening, night, and weekend differentials and supports surgical specialties ranging from orthopedic to ENT and ophthalmology. Department/Unit Summary
The operating room is equipped with six beds and handles an average of 400 cases per month. The scope of procedures includes a diverse range of specialties: Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Cataract and Retinal Eye surgeries, Gynecologic, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic and Reconstructive, Prostate, and Gastroenterological surgeries. The majority of cases are general and orthopedic. Surgical operations are conducted Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday call rotations to ensure continuous coverage.

Qualifications and requirements Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in North Carolina or from a Compact State.
