As a senior software engineer at Mithrl, you’ll work closely with our AI, product, and biology teams to build the systems that power the AI Co-Scientist. From research question parsing and large-scale data processing to fast, intuitive interfaces for scientific insights—you’ll help bring speed, clarity, and power to modern biology.

• Build core features across Mithrl’s platform, from backend services to web interfaces

• Work closely with our AI scientists, biologists, and product team to implement and iterate on user-facing tools

• Own projects end-to-end: architect, implement, test, deploy, and monitor

• Improve performance and stability across our infrastructure

• Collaborate on system design decisions as we scale across new data types, users, and geographies

• Contribute to internal tools that help our AI scientists and biology team ship faster

• Help define and shape engineering culture as we grow the team

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, ideally at a startup or in a fast-paced product environment

• Strong experience with Python and Django for backend development

• Fluency in React for building modern, performant web applications

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (we use GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes)

• Pragmatic about trade-offs and good at balancing speed and technical debt

• Able to own systems and debug across layers

• Bias toward action, clean interfaces, and shipping fast

• **Curiosity, persistence, and a drive to understand how things work
