Job Title - Content Writer / Strategist

Location - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Onsite

We are seeking a Content Writer / Strategist to support a large-scale website redesign and content migration initiative. This role will lead the audit, restructuring, and migration of content from a legacy platform to a new content management system (CMS), ensuring content is clear, accessible, user-centered, and aligned with established digital standards and equity commitments.

The Content Writer / Strategist will collaborate closely with internal teams, including subject-matter experts, designers, developers, and project leadership, to validate migrated content, resolve gaps, and prepare content for launch.

What You’ll Do

• Audit, write, edit, and restructure web content for migration to a new CMS
• Translate complex programs and services into clear, user-friendly language
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content accuracy and consistency
• Ensure content meets accessibility standards and plain-language best practices
• Optimize content for readability, engagement, and digital performance
• Support quality assurance and content validation prior to launch

What We’re Looking For

• Experience writing for government, public sector, or civic-focused websites
• Familiarity with large-scale content platforms and service-oriented web content
• Experience working with content management systems (CMS)
• Basic knowledge of SEO and web analytics
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience creating content for government or civic digital platforms
• Knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and plain-language principles
• Experience collaborating with designers, developers, and communications teams
• Ability to analyze content performance and make data-informed improvements
